You are Invited to Paws-Ability’s Wag Shag

August 6, 2008

Paws-Ability, the Brunswick County non-profit organization that raises money to aid animal shelters, animal rescue groups and pets in need, is inaugurating a festive event for animal lovers Sunday, October 5, 2008.

Dubbed the Wag Shag, the old-fashioned picnic and celebration will take place in an air-conditioned tent on the grounds of Sea Trail’s Convention Center from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. You are invited to bring your socialized and well-behaved canine companion along to join the fun. In addition to the midday cookout, entertainment will be provided by D.J. The Big Bopper, and dog dancing and a shag demonstration will follow lunch. A cash bar will be available.

Several contests are planned for attendees who bring along their canine friends, and a pet photographer will be on hand to memorialize you and your pet’s participation. A few canine escorts will also be available for those desiring a doggie date for the afternoon.

Tickets, at $35 each (dogs are free), will go on sale in mid-August. For additional information, contact John Pannullo at (910)579-5533. All tickets must be ordered in advance; none will be available on the day of the event. For online ticket sales, please go to http://www.paws-ability.org/
